Begin Your Admin Journey

Welcome to the Admin Module of PiCAD-Motor. If the standard user interface is all about designing and analyzing motors, the Admin Module is where you get to control, manage, and customize the overall experience for your team or organization. Imagine it as the control center that ensures smooth collaboration, secure data handling, and flexible project management.

Whether you are an educator managing students, a team leader supervising multiple engineers, or a project manager maintaining a library of materials and reports, this section will help you navigate every aspect of the Admin Module.

Let us walk through the core sections:

 Home (Dashboard)

The Admin Dashboard gives a complete view of all activities within PiCAD-Motor.

  • Activity Snapshot: Get a real-time overview of current projects, active users, and recent simulation runs.

  • Notifications Center: See alerts for pending approvals, updates in reports, or flagged inputs that require attention.

  • Quick Access Tiles: One-click shortcuts to user management, material libraries, and commonly used reports.

  • Usage Analytics: Track how many simulations were run in a given period, which modules are used most (EV, NON-EV, AMD, Cost Estimation), and resource utilization.

 User Management

User Management is the heart of the Admin Module. It allows you to control users' profiles and permissions.

  • Create & Invite Users: Add new members via email, assign them roles, and onboard them quickly.

  • Role-Based Access Control (RBAC): Define roles such as Student, Researcher, Engineer, or Reviewer. Admins can decide who gets to run simulations, edit materials, or generate reports.

  • Monitor Activity Logs: Track ownership of simulations, modules they use, and data export. This can come under benefits ensures accountability and compliance.

  • License Allocation: Assign Academic or Professional edition seats to users and redistribute as needed.

 Reports

Admins have access to enhanced reporting tools that go beyond standard user-level reporting.

  • Cumulative Reports: Generate department-level or institution-level summaries of simulations.

  • Export Options: Export reports in multiple formats (PDF, Excel, CSV) for academic publishing or corporate review.

  • AI-Assisted Insights: Admin-level reports include AI summaries highlighting efficiency trends, cost-saving opportunities, and anomaly detection across multiple users’ projects.

  • Version Control: Keep track of report history for compliance and audits.

 Material Library

The Material Library is a shared repository of resources that ensures all users in your organization work with consistent and validated data.

  • Centralized Database: Upload and manage motor components, materials, and design presets.

  • Access Control: Decide whether materials are available to everyone or restricted to certain groups.

  • Version Management: Update material properties over time without losing track of past versions used in earlier simulations.

  • Integration with Modules: Seamlessly use these materials within EV, NON-EV, AMD, and Cost Estimation modules.

 Feedback

The Feedback section acts as a communication bridge between users and administrators.

  • User Feedback Collection: Gather insights on usability, module accuracy, or performance issues from your team.

  • Admin Review Dashboard: See recurring feedback themes and prioritize actions accordingly.

  • Escalation Path: Forward critical feedback directly to PiCAD support or product development teams.

  • Analytics: Track feedback resolution times to ensure responsiveness.

 Settings

The Settings section allows admins to customize PiCAD-Motor to fit organizational needs.

  • General Preferences: Language selection, date/time formatting, and default module landing page.

  • Security Controls: Enforce password policies, set session timeouts, and manage multi-factor authentication.

  • Integration Settings: Connect PiCAD-Motor with other tools (CAD platforms, ERP systems, or learning management systems).

  • Backup & Restore: Configure automated data backups and ensure disaster recovery readiness.

  • Customization Options: Add your institution/company logo, set default color schemes, and personalize dashboards.

Future Scope of the Admin Module

The Admin Module is evolving and will include more advanced features in future releases, such as:

  • AI-Driven User Assistance: Automated recommendations for assigning users to projects based on past performance.

  • Advanced Analytics: Deeper insights into motor design efficiency across time and teams.

  • Collaboration Features: Real-time co-editing of motor designs with activity tracking.

  • Custom Report Templates: Build and save report formats tailored for specific stakeholders (management vs. technical teams).
